Is the “New” Camaro not very new
Here’s the outgoing model

Which one’s which??

My point exactly. (The red one is the new one)

It’s COMPLETELY NEW underneath where it MATTERS! The current design sells like hot cakes, why would you fuck that up?
It is a completely new car underneath, with completely new engines.
IT’S A COMPLETELY NEW CAR!

i’m a GM fanboy , but i’m not a fan of this one either.
looks like an update not an all new model.

Uhhhh, only you and literally every other person to look at it since it first leaked? Not to mention that GM said from day one that the Gen 6 would be more evolutionary styling-wise. Lol....

How much coffee have you had today Travis?
![]() 05/16/2015 at 18:07 |

Its not really a bad design, but its not innovative either. I dont think it deserves to be called new, updated maybe but not new
![]() 05/16/2015 at 18:07 |

Who gives two shit how different it looks. It takes the hot styling of the old one, adds some new hotness to it, puts it on a lighter chassis, gives it a way nicer interior, a 455 horsepower V8, 335 horsepower V6, and 275 horsepower turbo 4.
If it being “not different enough” is the only issue, that’s just nitpicking. Especially when the Mustang design hasn’t drastically changed that much in the last what, 20 years? Same with the Challenger, which got nothing more than new headlights, taillights, and a different front fascia.

Clearly not enough to deal with your comments.

Team Mustang for me! Never have been a huge Chevy person.
![]() 05/16/2015 at 18:09 |

Just as new as the new Mustang.

You’re the one studying design, if you can’t see that it’s an evolution of the current model then I don’t know what to say.
It certainly looks similar, but it’s a Camaro. While the styling is along the same lines, the chassis is new, the engines are new, the interior is new...I really don’t get what people are complaining about.
We got a lighter, more powerful, and nicer Camaro. What's not to like?

This has been known for over a year: http://www.motorauthority.com/news/1090803_2…
Since it’s on a new platform, literally every component is probably new. No way to carry over any of those fascias, body panels, etc, even though they look similar. I know you’re a more design-oriented person, but no one’s going to market a car made of all-new parts as anything besides “all-new.”
![]() 05/16/2015 at 18:12 |
|
The new platform is supposed to save significant weight
![]() 05/16/2015 at 18:14 |

But how can you market a car to be all new without appearing all new
![]() 05/16/2015 at 18:15 |
|
You can tell they concluded that they didn’t need to put a of lot of work into updating the styling. There is financial merit in “if it ain’t broke” ideology (this one looks like it will use the same windows & doors & pillars as the outgoing one, etc). Besides, sex up the details and you’ve already fooled most people into thinking it’s a brand new car.
Half baked, but not necessarily in a bad way.
![]() 05/16/2015 at 18:16 |

Even though both look exactly the same, the old one is now literally worthless and everyone who owns one should destroy it immediately.
![]() 05/16/2015 at 18:18 |

I can’t tell which one is old and which one is new.
/sarcasm.

Not my field of expertise, but check literally any of GM’s social media and marketing right now. I’d guess that’s how.

have fun being slower ;)
Always have been always will be.
![]() 05/16/2015 at 18:22 |

Dare I say it, I prefer the ‘16. It freshens the styling without losing sight of the heritage, and it’s on an all-new platform? Winning!
![]() 05/16/2015 at 18:26 |
|
Have you ever heard of this car called the 911?
How about a truck called the G wagon?
There’s another one called a Caterham?
Ford GT??
Evolution in design is just fine. And when the new generation shares zero body panels, lights, windows or any interior trim, it is by definition “all new.”
![]() 05/16/2015 at 18:29 |

Oh dear its so hard to tell the difference. I think the last two eat up rod bearings. Two of them have subframe failures. Yup the one of the far left is brand new.
![]() 05/16/2015 at 18:30 |

It is not a facelift, it is a brand new car. New platform, new engines, new suspension. Everything is way better.
![]() 05/16/2015 at 18:37 |

Yeah, of course not. It’s not new at all! Except for literally everything...
No, it’s not an all new Camaro even though it rides on a completely different chassis.
No, it’s not an all new Camaro even though it has 3 new engine options
No, it’s not an all new Camaro even though the interior is completely new
No, it’s not an all new Camaro even though it shares nothing with the old one besides the general design aesthetic.
I guess new phones are never really all-new. And new laptops, no of course not! New TVs? Nah, they’re still rectangular, come on TV makers!

Because it is all new underneath. That’s what they are marketing as new. The car is mechanically new. And the interior is all new.
And the car looks new! Shocking!
How does Ford market an F-150 as all new when it has looked the same since 2005?
![]() 05/16/2015 at 18:45 |

People just want a reason to dislike GM on the Internet.
They can't come up with anything to actually complain about on the Camaro so they resort to saying it looks the same, has poor visibility, and weighs a lot
![]() 05/16/2015 at 18:45 |

Except it is a brand new car...

The old one’s looks sold like cocaine in Florida, so they just improved upon what customers complained about. Plus: Entire new engine options, new transmissions, new suspension, etc. Think new Tacoma, looks similar to the old one, but has been improved vastly upon.

They also got rid of the chrome uni-brow, I like them a little more for that. Credit where credit is due, I’d get one of these over a Mustang.

Are you trying to kill me over here?!
![]() 05/16/2015 at 19:06 |

Maybe...
Really though, the date is set for me to leave Florida, so I’m just a happy camper. Plus, my medication has changed, and that’s taken off a bit of my edginess lol.

This whole discussion is about the design. Yes it's new underneath, yes a lot of the outside is carried over.

Cool your tits man, thats like 5 comments to me that all basically say the same thing. Calm down, go take a walk

If you read the rest of the comments Denver is questioning how this can be called all new if it doesn’t look completely different.
It’s all new. Literally, no parts are carried over, at least outside of maybe switchgear or fasteners. All new sheet metal, all new chassis, all new engines (to the Camaro at least), all new everything
Nothing is carried over, the design aesthetic is very similar but that doesn't mean it isn't new
